SmartRV Lockdown Update

To our SmartRV family,

 

As you are aware, New Zealand introduced a COVID-19 alert system with 4 levels, so that the nation is clear on what they must do to minimise the spread of COVID-19. We are now at Level 4.

The range of measures (can be applied locally or nationally) that have taken effect are:

  • People instructed to stay at home
  • Educational facilities closed
  • Businesses closed except for essential services (e.g. supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics) and lifeline utilities
  • Rationing of supplies and requisitioning of facilities
  • Travel severely limited
  • Major reprioritisation of healthcare services

 

Will I still be able to contact SmartRV during the lockdown period?

Yes. 

We’re still here to help you find your dream motorhome. 

While we won't be able to physically show you through our range of premium motorhomes, you’ll still be able to view and enquire about our motorhomes for sale. We’ve set up our website as our virtual sales centre, so it’s now even easier to experience our motorhomes without having to leave the comfort of your home. If you have any questions, please call 0800 007 627 (Auckland) or 0800 007 628 (Christchurch).

We can even take a holding deposit on your motorhome so you can secure the model you want. We’ll get your motorhome booked in and get it road-ready as soon as we’re back to work.

And in a few weeks time, it'll be there for you to take out and explore our beautiful backyard.

The After Sales team (Anna, Nandor, Clint and Coby) are still offering their knowledge and support to our existing owners:  

Our sister company, Wilderness Motorhomes, will have a small team working throughout the lockdown period and you are welcome to contact their call centre on 0508 945 337. They can pass on any urgent messages to Anna and Nandor in Auckland or Clint and Coby in Christchurch.

Alternatively, you can send an email to aftersales@smartrv.co.nz . Our team will be checking this every few days. While they won't be able to book any work in for you, they can offer their technical advice and support.



Is the SmartRV base open during the lockdown period?

No.

We would like to let you know that our Auckland and Christchurch bases will be closed during this period.  Although we are able to offer our rental motorhomes (from our sister company Wilderness Motorhomes) as accommodation for essential workers and for use as a quarantine option, our base is not open for our SmartRV owners or anyone looking to buy a motorhome.

Our network of repairers throughout the country will also either be closed or supporting essential services, so, unfortunately, there will be no opportunity for any servicing or repairs.

During the lockdown period, if you are using your motorhome as accommodation, the government is encouraging you to stay in one place. We believe staying in a large town or city will give you the best possible chance to receive urgent mechanical support. We do not recommend staying in isolated or rural areas.

 

Will I still be able to purchase or order parts from SmartRV during the lockdown period?

No.

Our Parts Department will also be closed from Thursday 26 March 2020 until further notice, so we are also unable to send or receive parts.

Fiat or Mercedes agents will be open during the lockdown, but they are only open to support essential services.
